JUNGLE WATER PARK

Project Location: Mexico
Project Size: 200,000 sm
Scope of Work: Concept / Schematic Design
CHALLENGES:

Our client loves their natural setting, and the jungle look and feel of the site. It was crucial that our design promoted an air of exploration and discovery for the guest to enjoy and that we focused on highlighting the lush surroundings. This required us to have the attractions blend in, rather than have them stand out as we see in most large North American water parks. The site was significant at 20 hectares with a budget suited to a park half that size.

OUR SOLUTIONS:

At the center of this design, we created a custom iconic attraction by introducing a new concept wave pool that is fronted by a huge jungle beach, and that incorporates a central island featuring a giant jungle tree, multiple small palapas, and a stage for live performances. Surrounding the tree are translucent slides and other playful features and a signature restaurant that offers abundant spectator space while increasing F & B revenue for the park.
Precise ride selection was key to stay within budget. To increase the overall ride capacity, we incorporated a family six slide complex but had the rest of the rides be kids-oriented. This made for smaller than typical slide sizes that are still fun and appealing while allowing the surrounding landscape to be a focus that offers an increased experiential and immersive feel.
We incorporated three types of river rides in the park, giving guests a variety of additional ride experiences and an ideal way to enjoy the natural beauty of the park. Rivers are also a budget-friendly and practical way to transport guests from one zone to another.
